BUCKETS OF SUNSHINE
100 lucky children received a Bucket of Sunshine to enjoy on the beach this year. The large crab buckets comprised a sun hat, an extendable fishing net and most importantly of all factor 50 sun cream.
PICNIC IN THE PARK
A group of children accompanied by their carers enjoyed a warm day, playing in the playground , flying kites and kicking a football. We were able to distribute 30 packed lunches followed by a very entertaining magician.
WAKEHURST PLACE
The day was showery but that didn’t stop a visit to Kew Royal Botanical Gardens nr. Ardingly. Arriving by coach we headed straight to the community gardens and were soon playing in the mud kitchen, painting pottery toadstools, drawing sunflower specimens, making a bug hotel, planting up seeds as well as watching a bug puppet show. Some jumped up and down in muddy puddles thanks to the rain whilst others toured the Millenium Seed Bank and the Gardens. We came home with plenty of goodies all provided by Wakehurst.
VOUCHERS
Many of our families have enjoyed days out at Brighton Pier, Knockhatch, Paradise Park and Tilgate this year, thanks to our voucher scheme.
