Martyn Knight | Patron

I've been a professional performer in the West End, the UK and indeed all over the world.

With over a decade of experience in the director's seat, I have worked hard to build a renowned and award winning reputation as a director and choreographer.

I have been the resident pantomime dame at The Devonshire Theatre Eastbourne since 2004.

Anne

Anne Bickmore BEM | Chair

Whilst running a busy swim school, I set up the charity in 1991 with a drive and passion to encourage children to think of others less fortunate than themselves.

I was awarded a BEM in the Queen’s Honours list 2013. I am now kept busy with five young grandchildren

Val

Valerie Caswell | Treasurer

I have lived in Peacehaven since 1988 and have two grown up children.

I became aware of the charity when my children were young and learnt to swim at Anne’s swim school. I have been volunteering since 2013 when I took over the treasurer role, this complimented my career in finance. I enjoy being able to make a difference through the ABC fund.

Angela Mills | Secretary

I have worked in Peacehaven in several different roles as a teacher, headteacher, school governor and volunteer for almost 35 years. I know the town and its people well.

I have a great respect and affection for the families and children of the area. I am delighted to have been offered an opportunity through the ABC Children’s Fund, to continue to serve and support the local community.

I have been a part of The ABC Fund since the year 2000 now, starting as a volunteer and now as a Trustee.

Marion (2)

Marion Taylor | Committee member

I first became aware of the ABC fund in 1999 when I worked as a SENCO at a local Peacehaven Pre-school.

Some of the families needed extra help with getting equipment to aid their children’s care and development. Anne would listen to their needs and go off to her swimming class and return with items to meet the family’s needs.

My husband owns a local fencing company and he had been putting smiles on young faces, for a number of years, by decorating the outside of our house with Christmas lights. In December 2016 this expanded into an annual charity event around the winter solstice and The ABC Fund, as a local children’s fund, was the obvious choice for the proceeds from this event.

I was honoured to be asked to be part of the committee and support the charity with fundraising thoughout the year.

Marion Gorringe I Committee member

I have lived in Peacehaven for the past 36 years. My children were educated in the local schools. I worked as a teaching assistant in Peacehaven Infants School for over 20 years which I found extremely rewarding.

I have a real affinity to the local community. I was pleased to have been  a volunteer for Victim Support for many years.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with the ABC fund.
